Max Buzecky
Filmmaker / Multimedia Artist

BIO
Max Buzecky is a Milwaukee based filmmaker who uses time-based-media to explore the complexities of human experience. Max graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee with a bachelors degree in film; in which during this time he found that the beauty in his work came in the moment, and all preparation was best to serve that plan. From his time in school and beyond, Max has filled many roles on production teams, from his collaborations as a cinematographer to assistant camera work and gripping on larger projects. When he is not behind the camera on shoots, he is in the editing room, coloring projects.
Max's work has shown at many events, such as the Nos Studio Milwaukee Showcase, the Milwaukee International Film Festival, the New York Lift-off Film Festival, and the Interrobang Film Festival. He has also been nominated for best cinematography in the 2024 Wisconsin 48 Hr. Film Competition.
Max is always searching to find reasoning in contradiction, communication through silence, and meaning through observation. Regularly, Max explores these ideas through the controlled chaos of improvisation, whether behind or in front of the camera, under a clearly planned out narrative. Armed with a miniDV camera, Max captures the reflection of imperfect characters through the noisy image of analogue tape. It is through these imperfect images that Max hopes to uncover truth.
