"Dangerously Pointy" is an exploration of the anxieties people face at the threshold of change. Vampirism, in this instance, is the catalyst. Through a mix of 16mm film and miniDV tape, reflecting the muddied complexities of youth, I sought to communicate the confusion that comes with life's changes when the only comfort are one's fading past.

"Dangerously Pointy's" themes come from my own struggles at the time it was created. About to graduate college and new changes in my body giving me constant panic attacks, I channeled these feelings into this extreme scenario. My aim was not to show to get through these feelings, as I was still in the midst of them, but to communicate the consequences of complacency in these feelings. By the end of the story, I hoped to show that our protagonist's problems were only going to become worse as he runs from his present circumstance. This is not without empathy for him. After all, everybody knows the monster that is time.
